Create-a-Meal
Create-a-meal, an individual event, recognizes
participants who demonstrate their ability to use knowledge and skills
gained from their enrollment in Family and Consumer Sciences courses
related to issues of food and good nutrition. Participants must prepare
a resource container related to the specifications listed in the event prior
to participation. On-site: participants must plan and present a meal for
evaluators in response to a case study provided during the event.

FCCLA Creed
FCCLA Creed, an individual event, recognizes students
in their first year of membership in Family, Career and Community Leaders
of America, either middle school or high school level, for their ability
to recite and interpret the FCCLA creed. Participants must be able
to express themselves as they recite the creed and to explain in their own
words what the creed means to them.

Impromptu Public Speaking
Impromptu Public Speaking, an individual
event, recognizes participants who use Family and Consumer Sciences
and/or related occupational skills to develop a speech using the available
resources and communicate an understanding of the topic as given. Each participant
will have 30 minutes to prepare their speech and present it to the
evaluators.

Nutri-Snacks
Nutri-Snacks, an individual or team event, recognizes
participants for preparing a display illustrating a nutrition trend
and demonstrating a snack reflecting that trend. Sanitation techniques and
procedures are also reflected in this event.
